Brussels are sending an army of pen-pushers to paradise resorts, to act as diplomats to boost the EU profile on the world stage. This "corps" will be headed by Britain's Baroness Cathy ASHTON (who?) who receives £230.702 a year, making her the highest paid female Politician. It will have some 7000 staff and a budget of £8 billion. These so called "diplomats", will be stationed in places like: Barbados,Mauritius,Fiji,Cape Verde,Solomon Islands and the USA. Wages will be between £157.000 and £171.000 with generous EU expenses on top. (This includes drivers,school fees and household payments, together with "installation and resettlement" payments, equivalent to 2 months wages, plus 30 days holiday leave. Remember, in case you have forgotten, we are in recession and need to accept a wage freeze. Nearly all the countries within the EU, already have their own representatives in countries across the globe. How on earth can this "corps" be justified in any way? Is this not another example of what is really wrong with the bureaucrats in the EU establishment? I would love your comments on this please.
